Special Purpose Endowment Funds

A Perpetual Annual Campaign Endowment (PACE) Fund or a Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE) Fund will withstand the test of time, because volunteer leaders and professional experts adjust the list of organizations and projects to which Annual Campaign funds are allocated as needs and priorities change. Nevertheless, if you feel passionate about a Jewish organization or a program or area of perceived need, you may establish a Special Purpose Endowment Fund as a permanent or long-term fund in your name or your family's, or in the name of someone you wish to honor or remember. You specify up front how the spendable portion of the fund should be used, and the fund will be invested with your purposes in mind.

Designated Fund

Provide ongoing support to one or more qualified organizations of your choosing.

Basics

  1. With an irrevocable gift of cash or other property, you establish a fund to support one or more qualified organizations to which you have strong ties.
  2. Grants from your fund will be distributed according to your wishes for a fixed term or, if you endow your fund, for your lifetime and beyond.

Benefits

  • You may support more than one organization with a single fund.
  • The Federation, Jewish Community Federation or The Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) will always make distributions consistent with your original intent.
  • Whether you establish your fund with a Federation, Jewish Community Foundation or JFNA, you can count on your fund being managed professionally.

Field of Interest Fund

Support a population, issue, geographic area or program that matters to you. For example, if you live in a community within the Network of Independent Communities, you may establish a fund or add to an existing fund that supports projects and programs of JFNA in Israel and more than 70 countries around the world.

Basics

  1. With a gift of cash or other property, establish a fund to support a population, issue, geographic area or program that you want to support.
  2. Whether you establish your fund with the Federation, Jewish Community or JFNA, grants from your fund will be made strategically to support your field of interest.
  3. Grants will be made from your fund for a fixed term or, if you endow your fund, for your lifetime and beyond.

Benefits

  • The Federation, Jewish Community Federation or JFNA will always make distributions consistent with your original intent.
  • Whether you establish your fund with a Federation, Jewish Community Foundation or JFNA, you can count on your fund being managed professionally.

Scholarship Fund

You can assist students by establishing a scholarship fund in your name or the name of a loved one or contributing to an existing fund in which your gift combines with others' gifts for maximum impact. Make your gift to a scholarship fund that supports the school, subject area or student profile that suits your priorities.
